DESCRIPTION OF TASKS AND PERSONAL FUNCTIONS

 

What we do as Lamalma:

 

1) BEFORE THE CAMPS (therefore, not on the weekends):

 

   a) PLANNING:

 

       i) Set dates with the head of Global Equip ministry, which owns the Rancho das Pedras Vivas property, where the                   camps take place (we do not live on site), in order to guarantee exclusive use of the space during the scheduled                 days;

 

       ii) Contact ALL social projects to:

 

          (1) Schedule dates;

          (2) Send forms to control the number of children, age, gender, etc.;

          (3) Send term of responsibility;

          (4) Send basic information, FAQ and specific clarifications;

          (5) Eventual visits to the projects.

 

        iii) Contact projects and partner friends - like the FAROL project, responsible for the adventure activities and                            workshops in the forest - in order to promote group interaction during the camps.

 

    b) SHOPPING:

 

        i) Make purchases for the weekends for each specific group, according to the profiles described in the control forms              [see 1) a) ii (2)];

        ii) Purchase items and supplies for maintenance and development of activities;

        iii) Purchases evangelism and discipleship material for children and teenagers interested in knowing more about                     Jesus.

 

 

2) DURING THE CAMPS:

 

     a) EXECUTION

 

        i) Execute ALL program during the weekend [including hiking, games and adventure activities (these ones together                with the Farol Project)],from reception to closing;

        ii) Prepare all the food and snacks for the weekend, for about 20-25 people;

        iii) Assemble and dismantle tents, provide storage for them, as well as insulators, sleeping bags, pillows, lanterns                   and literature made available to children and teenagers;

        iv) Control all items and equipment and their state of conservation;

        v) Capture all activities in images and video for later exhibition to the children;

        vi) Share the Gospel at evening meeting (campfire), during a Sunday morning devotional and at the end of the                          weekend;

        vii) Clean the entire place after the group leaves.

 

3) AFTER THE CAMPS (therefore, not on weekends):

 

      a) POST-EXECUTION

 

         i) Produce and send reports of the camps held;

         ii) Treat the photos using specific software and share them with the social projects, in order to help in their                                dissemination, as well as to make these photos reach the children;

         iii) Edit video;

         iv) Visit children and teenagers at the projects after camps;

 

 

4) EXTRA-CAMP ROUTES:

 

     a) Ranch maintenance work in specific areas and demands;

     b) Write, translate, and forward newsletters;

     c) Talk about our work as Lamalma in churches, small groups, social networks, etc...;

     d) Make and distribute promotional material for Lamalma;

     f) Share specific demands and campaigns for the maintenance and/or development of Lamalma;

     g) Full financial control with an accounting firm for rendering accounts within the parameters of the Brazilian Law                    regarding NGOs;

     h) Plan, promote and carry out of missionary retreats (in partnership with Global Equip);

     i) Promotion of ordinary and extraordinary meetings.

 

 

What we do apart from Lamalma:

 

1) We work with a group from YWAM-Brazil in the translation of missionary material from English into Portuguese;

2) We are in charge of translating into Portuguese and reviewing the Bible Source View introductions available online;

3) We are responsible for reviewing newsletters from missionaries, eventual handouts and booklets for evangelism and         discipleship;

4) We translate mission books;

5) Romeu is in the middle of writing Lamalma's book;

6) Michele teaches classes and workshops on sexuality and first aid in social projects (on demand);

7) When unable to carry out our work with camps, we channel part of the project's money resources to purchase and distribute basic food baskets to families in need.

 

 

What we do beside missions:

 

We are parents of Igor and Eva, workers and teachers of preteen and teens from our church, members of the worship team of our church in Belo Horizonte.
